“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” Hippocrates
All culinary and medicinal herbs have a nutritional value as well as having a direct action on some part of the digestive process. Use the sophisticated laboratory that is your sense of taste to determine the medicinal and nutritional action of plants via the 6 main tastes of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, astringent and pungent. Using all your senses, learn how to identify a herb’s main qualities of heating, cooling, moistening, drying, antiseptic, invigorating or relaxing; based on the foundations of the qualities of the elements: Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. From this, experience which herbs have a connection with, for example, maximizing absorption of other nutrients and at the other end of the scale, detoxification processes.
Vitalistic food provides vital energy – learn how to prepare living foods with full nutritional qualities intact for maximum absorption and utilisation. Taste all the dishes we prepare and experiment with what foods suits your type of constitution best. Advice can be given to those considering trying a vegetarian diet.
Learn about which foods and herbs can support a Natural Detoxification process focusing on liver health, fat metabolism, tissue cleansing, gut flora & Naturopathic considerations.
